"Many were cold, but few were frozen"
Central New York Ice Racing got off to a good start this weekend. Not a huge
number of cars, but certainly enough to look and feel like the real thing.
As usual at CNYIRA some wait until the first race is under way to start
getting their car ready for the next race. That's okay, those of us who
showed up will take our points for this weekend. Those who didn't show up
missed a great time and a lot of good clean racing fun.
It was a great two days for the price of one day of racing. No major
collisions, and actually very little pushing or shoving of any kind. Well
done folks.
It was a challenging track on both days, and fortunately no frozen snow
banks to worry about.
Thanks to Tim O'Brien for accepting his role as first to show up at the lake
on both days. Tim did more than his share of work throughout both days. Of
course if he had been smart enough to buy that Suby while it was available,
he could have been racing instead of working so much.
Thanks also to Al, Jef, Rex, Nick, & Pete for taking care of cones,
registration, flags, tech, etc., etc.. And thanks to all who helped out and
manned corners or gathered cones or whatever you did to help. It was a good
group effort.
